About Us

Kimberley Carbon is Australia's Indigenous carbon exchange — where First Nations land managers sell direct, set their own prices, and define their co-benefits, and where buyers get verified ACCUs with full provenance transparency.

Transforming natural resources and waste materials into renewable products, including biochar, renewable diesel, and pelletized wood feedstock, for a cleaner, circular energy future.

Our platform brings together two fundamental objectives: protecting Country through traditional fire management while creating sustainable economic opportunities for Indigenous communities. When organisations purchase carbon credits through Kimberley Carbon, they support not only environmental outcomes but also cultural preservation, community wellbeing, and the continuation of knowledge passed down for millennia.

Our Vision

We believe Indigenous knowledge and traditional land management practices are essential to addressing climate change.

Through Kimberley Carbon, we support Indigenous communities to protect Country, preserve culture, and build strong futures while delivering verified climate outcomes.

Traditional Fire Management and Carbon Markets

For thousands of years, people across the Kimberley have practised early dry-season fire management using cool, controlled burns. This approach protects Country, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and helps prevent destructive late-season wildfires.

These practices are recognised under the Australian Government’s Emissions Reduction Fund, enabling Indigenous fire projects to generate Australian Carbon Credit Units. Carbon credits provide funding to support Rangers, maintain operations, and keep people connected to Country.
